When I saw pictures of this on Mr. Holst’s page, I knew I would soon be making it. Who doesn’t love a bacon cheeseburger??? But imagine a cross between meatloaf and a bacon cheeseburger… Thanks Mr. John for letting me share your recipe! I didn’t have any burger thawed out the first time I made it, so I substituted homemade venison sausage and skipped the salt and pepper. Since it was spur of the moment, I used cream cheese and jalapeno slices in the center. Sooo Good; I think I will be making a dozen of these for the freezer! Mr. John was taught to cook by his father. I was going to write out detailed directions, but I think his recipe is best in his own words and with his own pictures. Like most good cooks- there is no measuring; you just do it!  Enjoy- The Homesteader’s Wife

John used a clean tea towel, but I found waxed paper works just as well, and with less clean up!

How’s that for an easy and satisfying meal?

Of Course I had to include a picture of my version, made with venison sausage, cream cheese, pickled jalapeno slices, and thick cut home cured bacon. I encourage you to try this and adapt the recipe to what you have on hand!
